Auction/Auctioneer

Before an auction takes place, auctioneers must obtain an Auction/Auctioneer License. 

TO APPLY FOR OR RENEW A BUSINESS LICENSE FOR AN AUCTION/AUCTIONEER:

  1. Review the Business License chapter of the Marion City Code
  2. Complete application
  3. Submit application with appropriate fee and any required documentation (listed on the application) to the Finance/City Clerk’s Office at 1225 6th Avenue, Marion, IA 52302
  4. Once your application has been submitted, we will forward your application to the appropriate departments for approval.  This process can take two to six weeks. 
  5. Upon approval, a license will be mailed to you at the mailing address listed on your application

If you have already obtained a license and need to report an upcoming auction, please complete and return an Auction Notification Form to the Finance/City Clerk's Office at 1225 6th Avenue, Marion, IA 52302.
