For the fifth year, the Marion Fire Department is providing residents with a unique way to experience the firefighting career through the Citizens' Fire Academy. The academy includes both classroom instruction and hands-on experiences offered by multiple instructors. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and reside within the Marion fire response district.

The academy will be held every Thursday night from 6– 9 p.m. from April 13 to June 8, 2017 at Fire Station No. 2, located at 3933 Katz Drive in Marion.

A $20 fee will help offset material costs. Applications are due by March 31, 2017.
