Photo Scavenger Hunt List & Instructions

After a great turnout the first year, get ready for another challenge. Get out and enjoy some of the most beautiful assets that the City of Marion has to offer, our PARKS! We have compiled a new list of items (and actions) you might come across while visiting some of our parks. Now, it is your job to go out and find everything on the list and photograph them (for proof). Do it by yourself or with the entire family, it doesn’t matter. Once you find and photograph all the items, bring your completed list with your pictures to Lowe Park and your name will be entered into the drawing for a prize. One entry per person please.

What is better than a summer day at the ballpark? The answer...a discounted summer day at the ballpark! Join other Marion residents and help pack the ballpark for City of Marion Day with the Kernels as they battle the Burlington Bees. Kids 12 and under eat free that day, and are given a voucher at the main gates for a hot dog, popcorn, and a drink.  Additionally, kids can run the bases, play catch in the outfield, and get autographs from the Kernels players after the game.

Tickets: Discounted tickets* ($8 Club Seats) are available for purchase in person at the Kernels box office or by calling 896-7560, just mention City of Marion to receive the discount.

Back by popular demand...join the Marion Parks and Recreation Department for a night of outdoor family fun as dueling pianists take you on an interactive whirlwind tour of music across all different decades and genres. From sing-a-longs, to dancing, to jokes, you're sure to have a great night of laughs and memories with the guys from Midwest Dueling Pianos.

A night of awe and amazement is what awaits you as magician Gayle Becwar and hypnotist Doug T wow the audience. These interactive performers will leave you in disbelief as they pull out all the stops in a night sure to be filled with laughs and gasps.

Join pool staff for a night of fun and games before the summer season officially comes to an end. The one night when pool staff gets to interact with the public, participating in water fun and games. Watch for more details as the date gets closer.

Join the Marion Parks and Recreation Department for some free outdoor family fun this summer at sunset. Come early to get your seats. Movie title will be announced in the spring of 2017. 2017 Swamp Fox Festival

Join in the celebration of Marion's heritage at the 28th annual Swamp Fox Festival. A variety of events will take place in and around City Square Park including the Fall Marion Market, Swamp Fox 5K, a pancake breakfast, and the ever-popular Swamp Fox Parade. The fun moves to Lowe Park on Saturday evening for live music at the amphitheater, food, bingo, kids activities and a grand fireworks finale.
