The Public Service Department is responsible for providing snow and ice control for the city streets and the cities designated snow routes. 

Each year the Marion City Council approves the Snow and Ice Control Program that outlines the polices and procedures for city snow removal operations for the Public Services Department.  The Snow and Ice Control Program outlines the level of service and expectations for winter maintenance operations. In addition, the classification of streets, designated snow routes, and prioritization of streets for snow removal is defined within the Snow and Ice Program.
