NEW BUILDING PROJECTS
Papa Murphy’s has submitted plans to remodel a tenant space in the new WalMart Store.
Plans for a multi-tenant strip mall to be constructed at 5475 Dyer Avenue have been submitted for review.
Culver’s Restaurant has submitted plans for a new building at 1375 Red Fox Way.
Curt Hames has submitted plans for a 3 tenant building to be constructed at 500 Marion Boulevard.
Plans for the Marion Senior Living project at 3505 English Glen have been submitted.
ON-GOING BUILDING PROJECTS
Murphy Oil is constructing a gas station at 5497 Business Highway 151.
The empty space at 960 Barrington Parkway is being remodeled for an Edwards Jones office.
Construction of the new Marion City Hall has begun between 5th and 6th Avenues.
Zimmerman/Houdek is building a body shop at 150 7th Avenue.
Remodeling is taking place at 710 10th Street.
Rathje’s new building located off of 44th Street has begun..
A parking lot located at 801 8th Avenue is being constructed.
A new 4-unit building is being constructed at 495 62nd Street.
Vector Corporation located at 675 44th Street are expanding at their present location.
Parks Department Building at the Lowe Park located at 4500 10th Street has begun construction.
Cabinet Creations is constructing a new building at 801 62nd Street.
The Marion Water Department has begun construction of an addition to their existing building at 101 8th Avenue.
Wal-Mart Store construction continues at 5491 Business Highway 151.
The Gospel Hall Church located at 755 Grand Avenue is remodeling a kitchen.
Grace Baptist Church located at 1461 East Post Road is constructing a new gymnasium and kitchen area.
Performance Concepts is constructing a new building at 1075 Lyons Lane.
The Gospel Light Baptist Church is adding a hallway to the rear of the gym and are remodeling the gym into a worship area at 305 2nd Avenue. A stage area is also being constructed.
COMPLETED PROJECTS
Half-Price Books is open for business in the Collins Road Square Mall.
West Music has completed a remodel of the interior of their store.
Cooper’s storage buildings on the north side of Munier Road are completed.
ORDINANCES & CODES
As of January 1, 2004 the City of Marion will be operating under the 2003 International Building Code and the 2003 International Residential Code.
The Marion Plumbing Code consists of the adoption of the 2003 International and 2003 Uniform Plumbing Codes with local amendments.
The Marion Mechanical Code consists of the adoption of the 2003 International and the 2003 Uniform Mechanical Code.
The 2005 Marion Electrical Code has been adopted with an effective date of July 1, 2005.
