Marion Historic Preservation Commission
September 13, 2005

1. Call to Order.
Chairperson Hull called the regular monthly meeting of the Marion Historic Preservation Commission to order at 7:30

2. Roll Call.
Members Present: Hull, Klosterman, Noska, Martin, Klopfenstein
Members Absent: None
Staff Present: Hockett

3. Minutes.

a. Historic Preservation Commission – August 9, 2005

Minutes were not completed, will be reviewed and at the October 11, 2005 meeting.

4. Demolition Review Ordinance Discussion.

Hockett stated that the Demolition Review Ordinance was still be reviewed by the attorney and building department for conformance with state code and local building ordinances.  Hockett hoped to have comments back and brought before the Commission at the October meeting for review.
 
5. Review Terrace Park Nomination Project consultant proposals.
 
Tallgrass Historians RFP for work related to the Nomination Project for the Terrace Park Neighborhood was reviewed and recommend for approval.  Hockett stated that he would forward the RFP to the City Council in October for work to begin immediately following approval.  The proposal was under the budgeted $4,000.

6. FY 2006-2007 CLG Certified Local Government Grant Project - Timeline
 
Hockett stated that the grant was submitted on time and that the HPC should hear results of the Grant in December for work to begin in spring 2006

7. Other Business.
 
 a. Terrace Park / Gray Greenes Addition Books
Hull stated the book printing and binding had not turned out how she had hoped, however all books were sold and the Library is looking for additional copies.  Hockett stated that Kinkos recognized the mistakes.  Hockett would be meeting with the manager to discuss the books and would be ordering additional ones in the near future. 
 
 b. Swamp Fox Review
General discussion regarding Swamp Fox, everyone felt the event was a success.  Hull indicated that she had a good turnout for the walking tour of the Terrace Park area.

8. Adjourn.

There being no additional business to come before the Commission the meeting was adjourned at 8:32 AM.
