Historic Preservation Commission
October 11, 2005

1. Call to Order.
The Marion Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Chairperson Hull at 7:30AM.

2. Roll Call.
Members Present: Hull, Klosterman, Martin, Noska, Klopfenstein
Members Absent: None
Staff Present: Hockett

3. Minutes.

a. Historic Preservation Commission – August 9, 2005
b. Historic Preservation Commission – September 13, 2005

Motion by Martin, seconded by Noska to approve the August 9th and September 13th Historic Preservation Commission meeting minutes.

All “ayes” motion carried.

3. Review changes to proposed Demolition Review Ordinance Discussion.

Hockett presented additional changes to the proposed Demolition Review Ordinance.  The Commission will set 250’ notification requirement, hockett stated that they typically go out about 300’ to ensure they don’t miss any adjacent property owners in the notification process. 

Partial demolition will be processed the same as a full demolition and require full document submittal.

Hockett stated that the changes would be made and forward to the Planning and Development Director as well as the City Attorney for review and comment.

5. Terrace Park Nomination Project

The City Council will be acting on the RFP submitted from Tallgrass Historians (Leah Rogers).  Work should begin in late October or early November.

6. FY 2006-2007 CLG Certified Local Government Grant Project

No additional information to report regarding the CLG Certified Local Government Grant Project.  Notification of the award will not occur until mid December 2005.

7. Other Business.

 No additional business to come before the Commission

There being not additional business to come before the Marion Historic Preservation Commission the meeting was adjourned at 8:15AM.
