Garbage Collection

By Solid Waste Division
Created Sep 12 2005 - 9:03am

All pick ups are at curbside and must be out prior to 7 a.m. on the scheduled day. Trash may be placed on the curb after 7 p.m. the night before the scheduled pick up day.

Containers must be removed from the curb within 24 hours of collection. Residents should use no larger than a 32-gallon reusable container with lid or use plastic bags. Containers with attached/hinged lids are not acceptable for garbage collection or yard waste. The maximum weight allowed per container is 40 pounds. One container or bag is allowed per week. Additional garbage must be tagged with a sticker. Stickers cost $1.25 and are available from area grocery and convenience stores and City Hall. Refuse may not extend above the top/lid area of the can.

SymbolCardboard boxes must be flattened, cut into 2x2 foot pieces and placed in or under the recycling bin. Corrugated cardboard is banned from the landfill. Any cardboard in regular garbage will be tagged and left.

Holiday pickup schedules [1] are published in the city newsletter and are available on this web site. For further information regarding garbage collection call the Public Service Department at 377-6367.
