MINUTES
MARION PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
October 10, 2006

1. CALL TO ORDER.

Chairman Nestby called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.

2. ROLL CALL.

Members Present:   Mooney, Neighbor, Seidl, Techau, Golden, Krigbaum, Golden
Members Absent: Olson, Pressuner,
Staff Present:  Hockett, Treharne, Steigerwaldt

Motion by Mooney, seconded by Techau to approve the September12, 2006 Planning and Zoning Commission minutes as submitted.

All “ayes” motion carried.

3. MINUTES -

Motion by Techau, seconded by Neighbor to approve the September 12, 2006, Planning and Zoning Commission minutes as submitted.

All “ayes” motion carried.

4. SITE DEVELOPMENT PLANS -

a. CPC Resolution No. 06-28 regarding Preliminary Site Development Plan -  Lot 2, Hennessey First Addition located on the west side of 10th Street, north of Busy Bee Day Care Center (William and Geraldine Hennessey).  (Case #06-75)

Hockett presented the staff report regarding the proposed preliminary and final site development plans for the proposed duplex building.  Hockett stated that the project will include a potential of 4 units and that the previously approved plan included 5 units.

Hockett stated that no sidewalks or improvements to 10th Street will be required at this time.

Hockett further stated that staff recommended approval of the request subject to the required landscaping be moved from the city right-of-way and be placed entirely on private property

There were no comments for or against the request.

Motion by Seidl, seconded by Neighbor to recommend approval of CPC Resolution No. 06-28 regarding Preliminary Site Development Plan -  Lot 2, Hennessey First Addition located on the west side of 10th Street, north of Busy Bee Day Care Center.

All “ayes” motion carried.

b. CPC Resolution No. 06-29 regarding Final Site Development Plan - Lot 2, Hennessey First Addition located on the west side of 10th Street, north of Busy Bee Day Care Center (William and Geraldine Hennessey).  (Case #06-80)

Motion by Mooney, seconded by Techau to recommend approval of CPC Resolution No. 06-29 regarding Final Site Development Plan - Lot 2, Hennessey First Addition located on the west side of 10th Street, north of Busy Bee Day Care Center (William and Geraldine Hennessey).

All “ayes” motion carried.

c. CPC Resolution No. 06-30 regarding Preliminary Site Development Plan -Lot 1, Feder’s Sixth Addition located at the northeast corner of 35th Street and Munier Road (Garden Shed).  (Case #06-76)

Hockett presented the staff report regarding the preliminary and final site development plan regarding the construction of an additional detached garage on the property north of the existing house.

Gary Holub, 3600 Munier Road, stated that the garage would be used to store lawn equipment and miscellaneous items.  It would also be a place to put a couch for his dog to sleep on.

There were no additional comments for or against the proposed request.

Motion by Mooney, seconded by Golden to recommend approval of CPC Resolution No. 06-30 regarding Preliminary Site Development Plan -Lot 1, Feder’s Sixth Addition located at the northeast corner of 35th Street and Munier Road (Garden Shed).  (Case #06-76)

All “ayes” motion carried

d. CPC Resolution No. 06-31 regarding Final Site Development Plan - Lot 1, Feder’s Sixth Addition located at the northeast corner of 35th Street and Munier Road (Garden Shed).  (Case #06-77)

Motion by Mooney, seconded by Nesteby to recommend approval of CPC Resolution No. 06-31 regarding Final Site Development Plan - Lot 1, Feder’s Sixth Addition located at the northeast corner of 35th Street and Munier Road (Garden Shed).

All “ayes” motion carried.

e. CPC Resolution No. 06-32 regarding Lot 1, Feder’s Sixth Addition Preliminary Site Development Plan located at the northeast corner of 35th Street and Munier Road (Storage Garages).  (Case #06-78)

The proposed CPC Resolution 06-32 was tabled for the November 14, 2006 Planning and Zoning Meeting to permit time to correct a publication error.

5. OTHER BUSINESS.

There was no additional business to come before the Marion Planning and Zoning Commission.

6. ADJOURN.

There being no additional business, the Commission meeting was adjourned at 7:23 PM.
