Pollutants

Cleaning up after pets is part of being a pet owner.

PetsPets are a very important part of our lives, but it is just as important to clean up after them. Pet waste is not only unsanitary and unsightly, but their excrement also contains nitrogen (a substance also found in fertilizers) among other potential pollutants, which can compose a health hazard to both humans and wildlife if it becomes concentrated enough.

The best way to get rid of pet excrement is to simply flush it down the toilet, where it will be treated and the pollutants removed. This is not only the best method but also the most sanitary - would you want someone to leave their pet's waste in your yard?

RabbitImportant things to make sure not to do with pet excrement:

  • do not bury it
  • do not throw it in the trash
  • do not leave or throw it on the ground
  • do not dump it down the sewer
