March 2008
Street Division
The snow has let up and now the extreme winters damage to the street is visible as well as all the sand that we now need to sweep up. We got the street sweepers out as soon as snow was gone from the curbs. It is going to take some time to get all the material up. Between the two units they swept 398 lane miles. We used 100 ton or about $6000 in cold patch material in March. It does not stay in place but is all we can do until weather warms and other materials become available.
Also in March:
· Serious issues on Winslow & Lucore Roads that will be handled by Engineering
· Handled 43 citizen requests
· Minor signal work for Mt. Vernon & Hiawatha
· Cleaned all plowing equipment
· Carpet cleaned and door installed at Dygert-Peck in preparation for renting front third of the building
· Another traffic mast arm rusted apart & fell. Temporary pole has been set and we will have bids for replacing in April
· Assisted with installation of fiber optic conduit at Lowe Park
