 <title>Volunteer Application Procedure</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Individuals who want to become paid on-call members of the Marion Fire Department must go through the following process:
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Obtain an application for membership.&amp;nbsp; Membership application form is found on this website or can be picked up at Marion Fire Department Headquarters at 3933 Katz Drive.&amp;nbsp; A City of Marion Employment Application must also be filled out. This application can be picked up at Marion City Hall or Marion Fire Department headquarters. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Return the completed application forms to Marion Fire Department Headquarters. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The applications will be evaluated by the Marion Fire Fighters Association Screening Committee.&lt;br /&gt;

 <description>&lt;p align=&quot;center&quot;&gt;&lt;u&gt;PAID ON-CALL (VOLUNTEER)&amp;nbsp; FIRE FIGHTER&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;NATURE OF WORK&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;p&gt;This is a position within the municipal fire department that is utilized by request and paid at an hourly rate when appropriate.&amp;nbsp; The paid-on-call firefighter trains for and participates in activities that protect life and property via skilled firefighting and rescue operations.&amp;nbsp; At a minimum, CPR and State of Iowa Fire Fighter I certifications will be attained within the first year and maintained thereafter by the employee.&amp;nbsp; Work often includes performing strenuous, hazardous tasks during emergency situations.&amp;nbsp; Additional time is spent training and studying modern firefighting techniques. Direction and supervision is received from superior officers.&lt;/p&gt;
