Testing for the postion of firefighter for the City of Marion, will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008. The top 30 scoring candidatew will be invited to participate in an agility test. Applications may be obtained between September 2, 2008 and September 26, 2008 from teh City Clerk at City Hall, 1225 6th Avenue, Marion, Iowa.

This report was prepared by the staff of the Fire Department at the request of the Marion City Council. The intent of this report is to provide as much information as possible to assist the City Council in making a decision as to the manner in which the citizens of Marion will be provided ambulance service in the future. This report will attempt to discuss as many issues as possible. It must be understood that many of the issues below cannot be responded to in an objective manner until such time as a new Ambulance Authority is formed and they establish a formal financial and operational program. The City of Marion has three fundamental alternatives for ambulance service:

Notice:

On January 1, 2007, the Marion Housing Division was transferred to the Building Department at City Hall. For rental housing issues, contact Marion Housing Inspector Ivy Meeker at 319-743-6337.

Marion's Fire Department is charged with the responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens of Marion.
Whether the emergency is fire, illness, trauma, hazardous materials release, or special rescue, MFD maintains a trained staff and well-equipped vehicles to meet this responsibility. Weekly call logs are available on this site.
