The City of Marion and RDG Planning and Design are hosting a workshop on Wednesday, June 12, to help inform an update to the City’s Comprehensive Plan - Marion 2045: A Plan to Reach New Heights.
Two sessions will be offered in a come-and-go format on Wednesday, June 12. The consultant and City staff will be available from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and again from 4-6 p.m. that day in the boardroom of the Marion Public Library, 1101 6th Avenue, Marion. There will be no formal presentation. Attendees are encouraged to think about future land use, identify growth and enhancement areas and give input on key areas such as housing, community services and business growth.
The Comprehensive Plan is a tool that provides community leaders and decision-makers with a roadmap for growth based on the vision of community stakeholders. It considers not only current needs and issues within the community but guides future development for the next 15 to 20 years.
Those unable to attend are invited to visit cityofmarion.org/CompPlan to share comments via the interactive map and stay up-to-date on additional public participation opportunities. Development of the plan is expected to conclude by March 2025.
