You may call the Records Office at 319-200-7714 or stop by the police department on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The minimum cost for a report is $5.00. Reports cannot be faxed. If you would like one mailed to you, send a letter requesting the report along with a $5 check made payable to the Marion Police Department and include a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Records Office, Marion Police Department, 6315 Highway 151, Marion, IA 52302. It is helpful if you are able to provide a case number, date of incident and names of those individuals involved with your request. 

To retrieve property obtained during an investigation, contact the property officer between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling 319-200-7708. The property officer will determine the status of the property and if it can be released. If it can be released, an appointment will be coordinated for the owner to retrieve the property.

The Marion Police Department does fingerprinting on Wednesdays of each week, between the hours of 9 a.m.- noon. No appointment is necessary and we ask that you bring a valid photo ID. The cost is $20 for up to two fingerprint cards and $10 for each additional card. Only cash or check are accepted for payment. Please note you must provide the fingerprint card(s). 

The Linn County Master Gardeners assists the City of Marion and has a greenhouse and demonstration gardens at Lowe Park. 

Restrictive covenants typically are associated with residential developments are binding legal obligations written into the deed of a property by the seller. These covenants can be either simple or complex and can levy penalties against buyers / owners who fail to obey them.

The restrictive covenants are private agreement between the original seller and the land that your home is situated on.  The City is not a party to these agreements and does not retain a copy nor enforce a violation of the restrictive covenant.  You will need to retain private legal advice to pursue enforcement of the agreement.

Restrictive covenants can be located within your deed at time of purchase, they may be recorded with the Linn County Recorder's Office or if it is a relatively new development the original developer may be able to provide you with a copy of the covenants.

There is no limit to the number of City issued recycling containers you may set out each week. Additional recycling containers can be purchased at the Public Services Department.
