Marion Mayor Nicolas AbouAssaly reviewed the challenges and triumphs of 2023 and highlighted the projects slated for 2024 and beyond during the 30th annual Marion State of the City address on March 5, 2024. His presentation was titled “Setting the Standard.” 

His remarks touched on Marion's efforts in community engagement, quality of life, growth and development, efficient and effective government, building community and collaboration.

Using an approach that is forward-looking, people-focused and rooted in partnerships, community leaders are delivering on a vibrant quality of life and setting the standard for future growth and development.

The mayor also spoke about how the community has embraced the idea that we are collectively Team Marion.
