Home MenuPublic Safety 911 Communications Center
Although it operates out of the Police Department Headquarters, the Communications Center is the answering point for all 911 calls within the City of Marion. The Communications Center dispatches both emergency and routine calls for the Marion Police Department and the Marion Fire Department as well as coordinates mutual aid efforts with other local agencies to serve the needs of the public.
The Marion Public Safety Communications Center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is staffed by nine full-time Communications Operators and led by Communications Center Manager Rhonda Kaczinski.
9-1-1 is reserved for emergencies only. When calling 9-1-1, stay on the line and try to remain calm with your information ready. It is a good idea to program the police departments non-emergency phone number into your cellular phone and home phone. The non-emergency number is 319-377-1511 and Marion Public Safety Communications Center employees are available to answer your call 24 hours a day.
