The Finance Department processes payments to vendors, issues invoices for most City services, collects and distributes taxes and fees, tracks fixed assets, generates financial reports, maintains City funds and oversees the annual audit.

Moody’s Investors Service recognized Marion's strong financial operations by reaffirming its bond rating at Aa1. The City has maintained this rating since 2010.
