Please keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice.
Per City of Marion Ordinance 141.03 “Removal of Snow, Ice and Accumulations,” it is the responsibility of the abutting property owners to remove snow and ice accumulations from sidewalks promptly. The entire sidewalk along the property must be cleared, including any corners leading into the street.
If a property owner does not remove snow or ice accumulations within 36 hours after the accumulation, the City may do so and assess the costs against the property owner for collection in the same manner as a property tax. Concerns with residential snow and ice removal are handled on a complaint basis by contacting the Marion Parks and Recreation Department at 319-447-3580.
