Gage Miskimen grew up in Marion and was appointed to the City Council in April 2023 and elected as Ward 1 representative in Nov. 2023. He is a 2015 graduate of Marion High School and 2019 graduate of the University of Iowa.

Gage is the community engagement coordinator for Four Oaks. Before his current position, he was a journalist and worked for The Cedar Rapids Gazette and The Des Moines Register, covering local government.

Gage joins the City Council with the goals of engaging younger members of the community in local government, supporting the continued growth of the city, and working with our partners across the region to help Marion and surrounding communities thrive. Some of the issues he cares about include mental health, housing, and community engagement.
