In an effort to streamline our permit process, the Marion Fire Department (MFD) is now utilizing a 3rd party fire protection engineer to ensure a quality review process for fire alarm and sprinkler plans. Fire Alarm System Plans should be sent directly to Lund Fire Protection.

The plans must be stamped and approved by a qualified person NICET Level III or a licensed engineer of life safety design.

Lund Fire Protection will send their review letter to the MFD. The MFD will issue the sprinkler/fire alarm permit to the fire protection contractor.

Please communicate with Lund Fire Protection to resolve any issues or missing information prior to submitting your alarm plans. If there are items that need to be addressed after the review letter is issued, a resubmission may be required, which will be at an additional cost to you.

Acceptance testing of the fire alarm system must be conducted by the fire department before the building can be occupied.

Submit plans for your automatic fire alarm system including the manufacturer’s specifications for each of the devices to Lund Fire Protection at info@lundfp.com.
