In an effort to streamline our permit process, the Marion Fire Department (MFD) is now utilizing a 3rd party fire protection engineer to ensure a quality review process for fire sprinkler plans. Fire Sprinkler System Plans should be sent directly to Lund Fire Protection.  

Lund Fire Protection will send their review letter to the MFD. The MFD will issue the sprinkler permit to the fire protection contractor.  

Please communicate with Lund Fire Protection to resolve any issues or missing information prior to submitting your sprinkler plans.  If there are items that need to be addressed after the review letter is issued, a resubmission may be required, which will be at an additional cost to you. 

Acceptance testing of the fire sprinkler system must be conducted by the fire department before the building can be occupied.
