The Marion Police Department is committed to working in partnership with our community to create a safe and secure environment for those who live, work and visit. Information is one of the most valuable resources our local government can provide. This includes information on recent Police Department activity.

This portal provides a database of Police Department incidents, accidents and citations, searchable by date and geographic location. Search results will include incident type, report number and date/time information. Names and exact address information are NOT included in search results.

In addition, you may register to receive personalized alerts to track the crime in your neighborhood. Being informed about criminal activity in our community is the first step in preventing future crime. Together, we will enhance public safety and improve the quality of life in our community.

Definitions:

Incidents – incidents are officer-initiated and/or resident requests for assistance when an officer is assigned to the call. These include criminal and non-criminal law enforcement responses. An incident may or may not have a corresponding criminal case report. Because incident types are based upon preliminary information supplied to a dispatcher by the reporting party, this data may differ from the information that is gathered by the reporting officer at the scene.

Accidents – An accident is when officers are dispatched and an accident report is written. Crashes on private property or when vehicles were found to have no damage are typically not included in these reports.

Cases – Reports written by a police officer.

For various reasons, including changes in report classification, delays in reporting and the processing of reports, data can change over time. Some reports may take up to 30 days or longer to process.
