To establish water and City services, please stop in at the Marion Water Department office at 3050 5th Avenue or call (319) 743-6310.  Your municipal utility bill will include water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, urban forest and garbage/recycling charges. 

To sign up for service you will need to provide the following information: 

            Your name or business name
            Social security number
            Service address
            Will you own or rent at the service address
            Mailing address
            Telephone number  
            Date service is to start 

If water is currently off at property, there will be a service charge of $32.10 (includes tax) to turn water service on.

New businesses and new homes must purchase an initial water meter from the Marion Water Department.

Irrigation meters can also be purchased from Marion Water Department.

            Renters: 

               $100 meter deposit (with social security number)  

               $150 meter deposit (without social security number) 

            Homeowners:

No deposit required (with social security number)

$200 meter deposit (without social security number)

   Businesses:

                Deposit amount varies based on average monthly water consumption

   Home Base Iowa Program:

The Marion Water Department promotes the Home Base Iowa Program which supports veterans in our community.  Deposits will be waived for qualifying veterans.  Veterans must qualify by contacting MEDCO.
