Linn County acquires 485 Acres Adjacent to Squaw Creek Park
The City of Marion has collaborated with Linn County in the land acquisition. The intent is to establish an underground water-treatment complex on approximately five to 10 acres of land adjacent to the City's sanitary wastewater system.

Marion Schools Celebrate Fire Prevention Week
As part of Fire Prevention Week, Marion Fire Department visited approximately 475 kindergarten students and 535 first graders to teach them about fire safety and let them see the fire engine. Roughly 615 third graders throughout the community draw a poster as part of the process of learning about fire safety.
