The plan encourages walking and biking to school and was created using input from the City of Marion, Marion Independent School District, Corridor Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), Linn County Public Health and feedback from community members, students and parents within the district.

On Friday, Dec. 29, with 17 years as Marion’s City Engineer and a 39-year career in public service, Dan Whitlow will retire from the City of Marion. The City is hosting a retirement reception and open house in his honor on Friday, Dec. 29 from 3-4:30 p.m. on the first floor at Marion City Hall.

The Marion Fire Department will help make the holidays a little brighter for some area senior citizens on Thursday, Dec. 21 when they deliver Christmas gifts on behalf of Home Instead Senior Care’s “Be a Santa to a Senior” program.
