    The department formally partnered with Foundation 2 last fall, and in January, Brooke Bige came on board as our contract mental health crisis counselor. Brooke has had an immediate impact since she started.

    Boyson Trail Closed from Boyson Road to Donnelly Park for Derecho Clean-Up

    Boyson Trail from the trailhead at Boyson Road through Donnelly Park is closing today to allow for derecho waterway clean-up along Indian Creek. The closure is expected to be in place for about three weeks. This extends the section of trail that is already closed between Thomas and Donnelly Parks.

    Marion City Council Approves Fiscal Year 2022 Budget

    The 2022 property tax rate will decrease by 1.5 cents to $14.20 per $1,000 in taxable property value. This is the third straight year of property tax reductions or a flat rate. The total property taxes paid by a residential property owner will be $801 per $100,000 of assessed valuation.

    Marion Awarded Grant Through MidAmerican Energy's Trees Please! Program

    The City will use the $2,000 in funds to support the replanting efforts of public trees that were lost in the August derecho. The trees will be planted in the spring and fall for optimal planting and survival.
