Tree Adoption for Marion Residents
The City of Marion and Trees Forever are partnering to offer low-cost trees for adoption to Marion residents. These tree adoptions are intended to help replant on residential land in neighborhoods and yards.

Marion Swimming Pool to Open on Memorial Day; Swimming Lessons to be Offered
The City of Marion is pleased to announce that the Marion Municipal Swimming Pool at Willowood Park will open for the season on Memorial Day, May 31. In addition, Red Cross swimming lessons will be offered at the Marion Pool in the summer of 2021. Classes will be filled to 50 percent of capacity.

City Offices will be Closed on April 2
Garbage and recycling will be collected according to the normal schedule. The Public Services office and Yard Waste Facility will be closed on Friday, April 2. The Recycling Drop-off Center and Yard Waste Facility, both located at 195 35th Street, will maintain normal hours of operation on Saturday.

Virtual Meeting Set for April 5 to Discuss Ward 4 Zoning Map Update
Ward 4 is predominately residential with new districts that reflect the actual use of the property as well as the size of the individual lots. The update also includes updates to the Tower Terrace Road corridor between Alburnett Road and Winslow Road and creates new commercial zoning designations.

The audit report indicates that it is the opinion of the auditing firm that the City of Marion’s financial statements as of June 30, 2020 fairly present the financial position and cash flows of the City and were conducted in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles.
