Recycling Drop-Off Facility to Open on Saturday
Going forward, the Recycling Drop-Off Facility will be open Tuesdays from Noon-5:45 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Governor Reynolds Eases Restrictions on School Sports and Additional Businesses
The proclamation permits summer school activities, including baseball and softball, to resume on June 1. And effective this Friday, May 22, movie theaters, zoos, aquariums, museums, and wedding reception venues will be permitted to reopen with appropriate public health measures in place.

Closure of City Facilities Extended through May 31
Despite the closure of facilities, City staff continue to work on-site and remotely to serve the community. Residents and businesses may conduct City business online, by phone, or via email.

Governor Reynolds Issues Proclamation Allowing Restaurants and Hair Salons to Open
The proclamation continues the other ongoing closures and public health measures, including the prohibition on social, community, recreational, leisure, and sporting gatherings and events of more than 10 people, until 11:59 p.m. on May 27, 2020.

Governor Reynolds Lifts Restrictions on Select Businesses
On May 6, 2020 Governor Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation allowing additional businesses statewide to reopen. In addition, there are limited businesses in Linn County now allowed to reopen under specific circumstances.

Marion's Hotel/Motel Grant Application Now Available
The funding source for these grants is the City’s share of taxes collected on overnight stays at hotels and motels within the city. Approximately $175,000 is expected to be available for the competitive grant program in the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Governor Extends Restrictions in Linn County through May 15
On Monday, Governor Reynolds signed a new proclamation continuing the State Public Health Emergency Declaration until May 27, 2020. The proclamation loosens social distancing measures in 77 Iowa counties effective Friday, May 1. Restrictions remain in place until May 15 in the other 22 counties.

Gov. Reynolds launches Test Iowa Initiative to Expand Testing Capacity
The Test Iowa Initiative includes an assessment that was developed in coordination with the Iowa Department of Public Health and it will better inform Iowans of their current health status, whether or not they should get a COVID-19 test, and instructions on how to get tested.
