Live Theater Production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" Set for September 16 at Lowe Park
For the first time ever, the City of Marion is bringing a live theater production to Lowe Park on Sept. 16. This event is produced by Giving Tree Theater and sponsored by Farmers State Bank.

As temperatures rise, the Marion Fire Department encourages residents to check on neighbors, family members and friends that are especially vulnerable to high heat indices due to age, medical or other conditions.

Automated Traffic Enforcement Cameras Installed in Marion; 30-Day Warning Period Begins
The stationary cameras are located at two high-traffic intersections, one is located at Highway 100 and East Post Road and the other is installed at Highway 13 and Highway 151. The cameras detect both speeding and red-light violations.

Parade Returns to Uptown Marion on Sept. 9; Marion Announces Full Line-Up of September Events
The City of Marion is bringing a parade back to Uptown Marion for the first time in four years. It will take place on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. as part of a full slate of “Fall Into Marion” events happening through September.

City of Marion and Monarch Research Partner on Fall Community-Wide Tree-Planting Program
Marion residents and landowners who commit to the planting, watering and protection of the trees as they become established can register online for up to three, free, 3-gallon trees provided by Monarch Research.

Ribbon Cutting to Celebrate Reopening of Faulkes Heritage Woods on August 14

Marion's Owen Block Building Under New Ownership; City Dismisses Petition Seeking Title
Earlier this year, the City of Marion filed a petition seeking the title to the vacant Owen Block building. Recently, Jamie and Kelsie Hoth have retained 100 percent ownership of the building and have been working closely with the City’s Building Inspection Division.

City of Marion Reports Storm Damage; Curbside Collection of Tree Debris to be Offered
The City of Marion will be performing curbside collection of vegetative storm debris beginning Monday, July 31, 2023. Residents are asked to place tree limbs and branches between the sidewalk and the curb for collection.

Marion to Celebrate National Night Out on August 1
The Marion Police Department is partnering with the Marion Fire and Parks and Recreation Departments to organize a community-wide event from 5-7 p.m. at Thomas Park, 343 Marion Blvd. Enjoy K9 demonstrations, police and fire equipment on display, games, giveaways and more.
