On Tuesday, July 19 from 3-4 p.m., the committee will host an open house in the atrium at Marion City Hall to share the findings of the study. The consultant will then make a presentation during the City Council Work Session at 4 p.m. Community members are invited to attend.

A contract has been awarded to LL Pelling Company for the 2022 HMA Resurfacing Project. This project consists of milling the existing asphalt surface, performing full-depth patch work and then placing new asphalt.

In Marion, the intersection at Alburnett Road and Echo Hill Road is also closed for the installation of a roundabout. The south and west legs of this intersection are completely closed. Local traffic from the north will have to use Cedar Springs Drive and Ridge Stone Lane.

Garbage, recycling and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day all week. Collection will take place Tuesday through Saturday instead. The Yard Waste Drop-off Facility and Recycling Drop-off Center will maintain their normal hours of operation on Saturday, July 2.

Property owners allowing fireworks to be discharged on their property outside of the established dates/times may be subject to citation for a municipal infraction. The fees for a municipal infraction are $750 for the first infraction and $1,000 for each subsequent infraction.
