Creekside Pride Committee to Share Findings of Indian Creek Master Plan Study
On Tuesday, July 19 from 3-4 p.m., the committee will host an open house in the atrium at Marion City Hall to share the findings of the study. The consultant will then make a presentation during the City Council Work Session at 4 p.m. Community members are invited to attend.

The Marion Public Library has now partnered with the Library Speakers Consortium providing webinars and online events with a range of talks from bestselling authors and thought leaders. The Marion Public Library is one of 175 libraries in the country that have a current partnership.

Asphalt Overlay Work to Begin on Monday
A contract has been awarded to LL Pelling Company for the 2022 HMA Resurfacing Project. This project consists of milling the existing asphalt surface, performing full-depth patch work and then placing new asphalt.

County Home Road/Alburnett Road Roundabout to Close on July 7
In Marion, the intersection at Alburnett Road and Echo Hill Road is also closed for the installation of a roundabout. The south and west legs of this intersection are completely closed. Local traffic from the north will have to use Cedar Springs Drive and Ridge Stone Lane.

Ribbon Cutting Set to Celebrate the Opening of the CeMar Trail Bridge Over Marion Boulevard
Attendees are encouraged to park at Thomas Park, 343 Marion Blvd., or Zio Johno’s, 755 7th Ave., since the only access to the bridge is via the trail on foot or by bicycle.

City Offices to Close in Observance of Independence Day
Garbage, recycling and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day all week. Collection will take place Tuesday through Saturday instead. The Yard Waste Drop-off Facility and Recycling Drop-off Center will maintain their normal hours of operation on Saturday, July 2.

A section of Boyson Trail between Boyson Park and Donnelly Park is closed due to heavy rains that caused washouts across the trail. Please observe posted signage and avoid the closed sections of the trail.

Marion Updates the Rules Surrounding Consumer Fireworks Usage
Property owners allowing fireworks to be discharged on their property outside of the established dates/times may be subject to citation for a municipal infraction. The fees for a municipal infraction are $750 for the first infraction and $1,000 for each subsequent infraction.

The Ron Burgundy's to Perform at Lowe Park on June 26
he City of Marion is pleased to host The Ron Burgundy’s at the Klopfenstein Amphitheater for the Performing Arts at Lowe Park on Sunday, June 26. Guests will enjoy yacht rock and other hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s at this free concert. The fun starts at 6 p.m.

Enjoy Free Sunrise Yoga at Lowe Park Saturday Mornings through August
