City of Marion Announces Presidents Day Schedule

Marion City Hall will be closed to the public on Monday, Feb. 21 for employee training and annual cleaning. Other City facilities, including Police, Fire, Public Services, Parks and Recreation, Water and the Marion Public Library will be open normal business hours.

Marion Civil Rights Commission Accepting Housing Assistance Grant Applications

The grant will help non-profits, charitable organizations or other entities interested in assisting low-and-moderate income individuals with programs that address housing instability in the community. Applications are due by March 15.

Public Hearing Set for Feb. 17 on Maximum Levy Rate for City Budget

State law requires that cities hold two public hearings and adopt a resolution establishing the total maximum property tax levy. The City of Marion will host its first public hearing on the FY 2023 proposed levy on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022 at 5:30 p.m.

With City Council approval, in March 2022, the City of Marion will be increasing sanitary sewer fees from $4.39 to $4.60 per flow unit due to increasing costs associated with wastewater treatment services.

Uptown Marion Library to change Hours of Operation
